Marlene Altenmüller is a Junior Professor (Assistant Professor) in Science Acceptance at the Leibniz Institute for Psychology Information (ZPID), holding a PhD from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU Munich). She previously served as a Research Associate at LMU’s Social Psychology Chair from 2018 to 2024. Her academic journey includes a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Art History from Philipps University of Marburg (2012–2018).

She leads the Science Reception Lab and contributes to interdisciplinary teams like the Social Influence Lab and Metascience Lab at ZPID. Grants include collaborations with TU Braunschweig and Berlin’s Museum für Naturkunde.
