معرفی
Prof. Markus Stroppel is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Stuttgart, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. He leads the Teaching Export Center for Mathematics (LExMath) and specializes in higher mathematics education for engineering students. His research focuses on geometry, algebra, and finite geometries, particularly unitals, projective planes, and group theory. He teaches courses like Higher Mathematics 2 for Engineering Degree Programmes and has published extensively on topics such as stable planes, octonion algebras, and geometric structures.
His academic roles include organizing lectures, presentation exercises, and group exercises for engineering students, emphasizing rigorous mathematical training. His office is located in Room 7.323 (V 57.7.323), and he holds weekly office hours on Mondays from 2:00–3:00 PM. He collaborates with a team of assistants and tutors, including Ruba Adarbeh, Juri Joussen, and Jared Miller, to support student learning.
Prof. Stroppel’s research explores advanced geometric configurations, algebraic structures, and their applications in mathematics education. He has contributed to understanding unitals, symplectic quadrangles, and exceptional isomorphisms between classical groups. His work bridges theoretical mathematics with practical educational tools, such as physical models for hyperbolic surfaces.
