Markus Mörwald

Markus Mörwald serves as a Research Fellow at the Technical University of Munich within the Chair of Vibroacoustics of Vehicles and Machines under Prof. Steffen Marburg. He operates in the Department of Engineering Physics and Computation within the School of Engineering and Design, focusing on computational engineering applications.

His research integrates Machine Learning and Deep Learning methodologies with vibroacoustic challenges, specializing in Uncertainty Quantification for predictive modeling and Building Acoustics solutions for timber construction noise insulation. This work bridges theoretical computational mechanics with industrial applications in vehicle acoustics and sustainable building design.

Mörwald actively contributes to academic instruction as a lecturer assistant for “Machine Learning in Computational Engineering Mechanics” (Summer Term 2025), collaborating with the Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development on real-world vibroacoustic projects.
