Markus Dahlmanns is a Researcher and Ph.D. Candidate at RWTH Aachen University's Chair of Communication and Distributed Systems under Prof. Klaus Wehrle. He holds an M.Sc. (2018) and B.Sc. (2016) in Computer Science from RWTH. His research focuses on industrial network security, internet measurements, and privacy education, particularly in critical infrastructure systems.
He has contributed to projects like CONNECT and VeN2uS, exploring secure communication in smart grids and adaptive protection systems. His work spans topics such as TLS adoption in industrial IoT, container image security, and privacy-preserving protocols for industrial collaboration.
Markus has advised over 16+ theses, taught courses on data communication, system software, and internet technology, and organized academic events. Notable achievements include a 2021 CAST Förderpreis IT-Sicherheit finalist award for thesis work on industrial message brokers.
