Dr. Markus Brückl is a Researcher at the Department of Speech Communication within the College of Humanities and Educational Sciences at Technische Universität Berlin. Since 2020, he has served as Coordinator for the Bachelor's and Master's Degree Programs in Language and Communication. His academic career spans over 15 years as a Research and Teaching Assistant, Contract Lecturer, and Project Researcher focusing on speech communication science.
Brückl holds a PhD (summa cum laude) from TU Berlin (2011) and a Master's in Speech Communication Science (2002). His research focuses on acoustic analysis of aging voices, forensic phonetics, and voice tremor measurement in Parkinson's patients. He has developed the irrNA R package for interrater reliability analysis and pioneered methodologies for voice comparison in legal contexts.
His work bridges empirical research methods with biomedical applications, particularly in analyzing voice disorders and developing voice databases like BrandDB. He has contributed to major conferences (Interspeech, MAVEBA) and authored foundational chapters in the textbook Sprechwirkungsforschung.
