Markos Petousis

Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineers, Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU), with prior appointment as Assistant Professor (2017-2022) at the Mechanical Engineering Department of the former Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Crete. Holds a Doctorate from the Technical University of Crete (2007) and extensive industrial research experience since 1994.

Research Focus: Pioneering work in 3D geometric modeling, virtual reality machining simulation, and additive manufacturing. Developed a novel 3-axis milling simulation model in virtual environments providing quantitative surface roughness data. Key interests span biomechanics applications, rapid prototyping, and production systems control.

Awards:

• Honorary Professor, Dennis Gabor College (Hungary, 2018)

Academic Contributions: Authored 100 peer-reviewed journal papers, 43 international conference proceedings, 6 national conference papers, and 3 book chapters. Active member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 1997. Teaching expertise includes Mechanical Design, CAD/CAM/CNC, and Precision Engineering at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
