Marko Ernek is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Music and Dance, Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in Bratislava. He holds positions in the Department of Keyboard Instruments and the Department of Piano Collaboration. His roles include teaching piano and church music. In parallel, he is a registered attorney at the Slovak Bar Association and works at the international law firm Wolf Theiss.
Education: Studied at the Academy of Music and Drama in Ljubljana (class of Daniel Buranovský) and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (classes of Aaron Shorr and Fali Pavri). Participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists like Stephen Hough, Eugen Indjic, and Ian Jones.
Performance and Artistic Activity: Concert performances across Europe as a soloist and chamber musician. Notable projects include representation in Europrojekt ensemblespiel (2003) and the Haydn the Progressive project (2009). Awarded prestigious competitions including the Yamaha Scholarship and recognition in the JN Hummel International Piano Competition.
Awards: Highlighted achievements include Yamaha Scholarship Award (2008) and 3rd place laureate at the 7th JN Hummel Competition (2011).
Grants and Collaborations: Engaged in cross-disciplinary projects blending music education and performance with legal work. Active in Slovak and international music communities through performances and pedagogical contributions.
