Marke Ahonen is a University Lecturer in the Department of Languages at the University of Helsinki's Faculty of Humanities. He holds a Docentship in Classical Philology and serves as a supervisor in the Doctoral Program in History and Cultural Heritage.

His research focuses on ancient philosophy and medicine, particularly the history of health and well-being. Current work examines ancient concepts of mental/sexual health and philosophical approaches to human frailty, supported by a Kone Foundation grant.

He actively contributes to public scholarship through media appearances and academic leadership roles.
