Mark van Overveld

Dr. Mark van Overveld is a Visiting Fellow at the Rotterdam School of Management, Department of Marketing Management. He holds a PhD in Clinical Psychological Science from Maastricht University (2008) and has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at both Maastricht University and the Rotterdam School of Management.

• Education: Mental Health Sciences (Faculty of Health Sciences) and Biological Psychology (Faculty of Psychology) at Maastricht University.

Research interests include:

• Emotion regulation in decision-making contexts
• Mindfulness interventions
• Psychophysiological mechanisms in phobias and financial behavior
• Disgust sensitivity and its cognitive biases

His work contributes to understanding emotional influences on financial decisions, particularly through EU-funded xDelia-project (2015–2019). The single published article (2010) focuses on contamination biases in spider phobics, linking cognitive patterns to treatment outcomes.

Interdisciplinary connections extend to UN Sustainable Development Goals through psychological approaches to mental health and decision-making frameworks.
