معرفی
Mark Wyatt is a Professor of Astrophysics at the Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge, with a Fellowship at Pembroke College. His research focuses on planetary system formation and evolution, particularly the study of circumstellar debris disks through theoretical and observational methods. With over 25 years of academic experience, he has held positions including Royal Society University Research Fellow and Reader in Astrophysics.
Research Interests: Mark's primary work involves understanding debris disk dynamics, exozodiacal dust, and planetary system architecture. He investigates how gravitational perturbations from planets or binary companions shape disk structures, and studies collisional evolution processes in extrasolar systems. Recent projects include JWST-based exoplanet imaging and ALMA observations of debris disks, with emphasis on dust grain composition and gas-dust interactions.
Scientific Contributions: His notable awards include the
- Fulbright Scholarship
- Grinter Fellowship
- Nutter Dissertation Fellowship
- eccentricity gradients in Fomalhaut's disk
- exozodiacal dust in Alpha Centauri
- cosmic dust's role in prebiotic chemistry
