معرفی
Professor Mark Shtaif is a communications scientist and current Rector of Tel Aviv University, where he has served as Full Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering since 2010. His research spans fiber optics, optical communication systems, and quantum information in fiber systems.
- B.Sc., M.Sc., and D.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion
- Professor at Tel Aviv University since 2002
- Head of the School of Electrical Engineering (2017–present)
His work integrates optics, nonlinear systems, and signal processing, focusing on polarization-dependent loss, nonlinear-noise modeling, and space-division multiplexed communications. Recent contributions include effective phase reconstruction using Kramers-Kronig receivers.
Scientific honors include:
- Fellow of the Optical Society of America (2010)
- Fellow of the IEEE (2016)
- Multiple Technion prizes (Wolf, Gutwirth, Rothschild)
