Dr. Mark Shoaf is a Professor of Management at Mount Vernon Nazarene University's Jetter School of Professional Studies since 1996. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Leadership (Capella University, 2006), M.B.A. in Executive Management (Ashland University, 1995), and multiple undergraduate degrees in industrial management and applied sciences. His career includes extensive military service in the Ohio Air National Guard (1996–present), where he held roles such as Director of Plans and Programs, Inspector General, and Commander. He has also been an Executive Officer to the Ohio Air National Guard Chief of Staff and owned a construction business.
His research focuses on leadership, mentoring, and applying military values to educational contexts. Notable works include studies on leadership styles in military settings and presentations at conferences like the American Society of Business and Behavior Science and the Christian Business Faculty Association. He has received awards including the Golden Hammer Award for Habitat for Humanity and the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal.
