Mark Sherrard is an Associate Teaching Professor in Biology at the University of New Brunswick, based in Bailey Hall 23. Contact: mark.sherrard@unb.ca or 1-506-470-0541.
His research spans plant ecology with specializations in restoration ecology (prairie reconstruction), ecosystem ecology (bioenergy feedstocks), and evolutionary ecology (plant trait evolution). He teaches BIOL 2008 Laboratory in Ecology, BIOL 2068 Laboratory in Biological Diversity, and BIOL 3412 Plant Physiology and Development.
Recent publications (2015-2020) focus on prairie restoration techniques, biomass feedstock sustainability, and plant-soil interactions. Research demonstrates consistent themes of optimizing conservation outcomes through ecological understanding.
