Mark STARELl, born in 1960, holds dual professorships:
- Institute of Fine Arts, Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce
- Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
He maintains an active international exhibition career with 30+ solo and 150+ group exhibitions, alongside organizing global workshops, symposia, and open-air performances.
STARELl pioneered 'Statistical Art' in 2002, creating data-driven visual narratives where numerical patterns dictate compositional structure. His practice centers on three major series: 'Threat' (environmental crises), 'Statistical Pole' (Polish societal attitudes), and 'Family Stories' (historical memory preservation). This methodology transforms abstract statistical realities into tangible artistic forms without direct realism.
As an academic supervisor, he mentors fine arts students in data visualization techniques and conceptual development. Funding derives from exhibition revenues, cultural grants, and institutional support for his international collaborative projects.
He co-founded the 'Discursive Geometry' movement with European artists, establishing a framework for cross-border artistic research. His studio practice integrates public workshops and symposia, providing immersive learning environments where students engage directly with statistical art creation and societal commentary.
