Mark Pease

Mark Pease is an Associate Professor of Digital Media at Southern Illinois University's School of Art, Architecture, and Design. His work explores visual ideas related to consumer nostalgia, simulacra, suburban landscapes, and modernist architecture through printmaking, animation, 3D visualization, painting, and photography. He holds an MFA from the University of Pennsylvania and a BFA from Indiana University, with additional studies at the Royal Academy of Art in London.

• Teaches courses in computer graphics, digital animation, video art, and 3D modeling.
• Exhibited nationally/internationally at venues including the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, Elmhurst Art Museum, and Soap Factory (Minneapolis).
• Prior teaching experience includes the University of Pennsylvania, University of North Texas, and University of Northwestern Saint Paul.

His notable works include Galleria (a 25-minute 3D animation exhibited at the Soap Factory in 2014) and Floriculture, reflecting his interest in hyper-synthetic digital environments and artificial spaces.
