Mark O. Battle is the Norma L. and Roland G. Ware, Jr. Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Bowdoin College. His research focuses on atmospheric composition and climate change. He earned his PhD from the University of Rochester (1994) and holds a BS from Tufts University (1988) and a BA from the New England Conservatory of Music (1988).
Before joining Bowdoin in 2000, he held positions as a Research Scientist at Princeton University (1997-99) and Assistant Marine Research Scientist at the University of Rhode Island (1994-97). Currently, he teaches courses on the physics and economics of energy (ECON 1181/ENVS 2118/PHYS 1181) and statistical physics (PHYS 2150).
