Mark Nelms is the Godbold Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Auburn University’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. With a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and master’s/undergraduate degrees from Auburn, his research focuses on power electronics, energy conversion, power systems, and renewable energy integration. He has authored/co-authored seminal works like Basic Engineering Circuit Analysis and contributed extensively to microgrid reliability studies, inverter control methodologies, and fault mitigation in electrical machines.
