Mark Humphrey

Mark Humphrey is a Professor at the Research School of Chemistry, Australian National University (ANU), a position he has held since 2009. He was elected as a Member of Academia Europaea in 2021 in the Chemical Sciences section, with Australia as his main country of residence. His homepage is hosted by the ANU Chemistry department.

His educational qualifications include a BSc (1982), BSc(Hons) (1983), and PhD (1987) from the University of Adelaide, Australia, followed by a DSc (2003) from the same institution and an honorary doctorate (Docteur honoris causa) from Université Rennes 1, France (2019).

Humphrey's research spans multiple specialized areas within chemistry, with particular emphasis on molecular materials and their electro-optical properties. His work integrates spectroscopic and electrochemical approaches to study complex molecular systems including dendrimers, metal-containing polymers, and molecular switches.
