Dr Mark Hewitt is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the School of Pharmacy, University of Wolverhampton. He serves as Admissions Tutor for BSc, HND, MSci, and MPharm courses, while also leading course development, website maintenance, and marketing initiatives. His academic expertise spans predictive toxicology, computational chemistry, and chemoinformatics in drug design.

Mark's research focuses on applying in silico methods to reduce animal testing in pharmaceutical development, particularly for hepatotoxicity and developmental toxicity prediction. His work includes creating standardized frameworks for model validation and electrophilic reactivity assessment.
Recent publications highlight his contributions to chemical categorization, read-across methodologies, and 3Rs-compliant experimental design. Notably, he co-authored a 2015 Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews article on in silico model validity assessment.
