Mark Heckman

Mark Heckman, PhD is a Professor of Practice in the CyberSecurity Engineering and Technology program at the University of San Diego. He holds MS and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis, and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). With over 30 years of experience spanning government/military systems, commercial IT security, and academic research, his work focuses on cybersecurity compliance, intrusion detection systems, and holistic security frameworks. He teaches at USD's Bridges Academy and actively publishes in cybersecurity education and maritime security domains.
