Mark Fucile is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Oregon School of Law’s Portland campus, where he teaches Legal Profession. He is also a practicing attorney in private practice, specializing in advising legal professionals and institutions on professional responsibility, attorney-client privilege, and law firm risk management. Previously, he co-founded his own firm in 2005 after serving as a partner and in-house ethics counsel at a major Northwest regional law firm. Mark has held leadership roles, including chair of the Washington State Bar Association Committee on Professional Ethics and membership in the Oregon State Bar Legal Ethics Committee.
He is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law and contributes extensively to legal ethics literature. His work includes co-authoring books such as LAW OF LAWYERING IN WASHINGTON and editing the WASHINGTON LEGAL ETHICS DESKBOOK. Mark serves as the ethics columnist for the NWLawyer and Multnomah Lawyer publications and co-chairs the WSBA’s annual Law of Lawyering Conference.
