Mark Faust

Mark Faust is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He leads the Cognitive Control & EEG Lab, focusing on cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and health psychology. His work employs EEG and computerized cognitive testing to study attention, task switching, aging-related cognitive changes, and the neural basis of health behaviors.

Dr. Faust’s lab investigates how people manage cognitive control processes, including suppressing distractions, adapting to task changes, and age-related cognitive decline. Methodologies include response-time analysis and EEG recordings using specialized equipment.

His lab (4097 Colvard) collaborates with Davidson College’s Memory & Aging Lab. Graduate students in health psychology utilize EEG to study topics like memory suppression and pain management.
