Mark D. Schwartz, MD is a Professor in the Departments of Population Health and Medicine at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He holds leadership roles including Co-Leader of the Integrative Seminar Course and Leader of the Clinical Research Methods Course within the Master of Science in Clinical Investigation program, as well as Vice Chair for Education and Faculty Affairs. His academic career spans roles at Duke University, NYU School of Medicine, and the New York Academy of Medicine through various fellowships in General Internal Medicine, Health Policy, and Primary Care.
Dr. Schwartz's research focuses on health services research, diabetes prevention, and health policy. He investigates disparities in healthcare outcomes among immigrant populations and veterans, with studies like the MASALA Study examining socio-cultural factors in Asian Indian/Pakistani communities.
