Mark D Soucy

Mark D Soucy, PhD RN APRN FAANP, serves as an Associate Professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Nursing, a position he has held since August 1996. He actively coordinates the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program while maintaining clinical practice as a psychiatric mental health advanced practice nurse.

Dr. Soucy's research interests focus on fatigue, nursing education, evidence-based teaching, and psychiatric/mental health nursing, employing grounded theory methodology. His scholarly work demonstrates particular innovation in virtual learning environments for psychotherapy education and reflective practices for graduate nursing students, addressing critical needs in mental health workforce development.

His publications from 1997-2023 reveal evolving expertise from HIV symptom management to contemporary virtual psychotherapy education, with consistent emphasis on improving mental health care delivery across diverse populations including children, adolescents, and Hispanic patients.
