Mark Cryer is a Chair and Professor of Theatre at Hamilton College, with a career spanning nearly four decades as a professional actor, playwright, and director. His expertise includes playwriting, acting, and directing, with notable works such as No other People and Objects in the Mirror (co-written with Lester Purry). He has performed in television and film, including Netflix's Diary of a Foreign Exchange Student, The Get Down, and Gotham.

Cryer actively contributes to academic governance at Hamilton College, serving on committees such as the Committee on Academic Standing (2012–present), Admissions Committee (2011–present), and as a Posse mentor (2010–present). He also directed the M-Theatre Project (2007–12) and coordinated the Wednesday Group workshops for theatre majors.
