Mark Costa, MD, MPH, is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, affiliated with the Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health (PRCH). He holds dual appointments in the Center for Brain & Mind Health and Psychiatry. His career spans clinical psychiatry in Brazil, postdoctoral training at Yale PRCH, and research focused on mental health disparities, peer support systems, and community-driven interventions. He co-leads initiatives like the Imani Breakthrough opioid recovery program and evaluates state-level mental health programs in Connecticut.
