Mark C. Paulk

Dr. Mark C. Paulk is an Associate Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) in the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science. He has taught at UT Dallas since 2013, specializing in software engineering, object-oriented design, and project management. Previously, he worked at Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and contributed to the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) for software. His research focuses on software process improvement, agile methodologies, and quality assurance.

Research Interests: Dr. Paulk’s work emphasizes software process maturity, CMM frameworks, and empirical studies on software quality. He is recognized for contributions to ISO/IEC 15504 and the eSourcing Capability Model.

Publications: His recent works include studies on 10X software quality variation, Scrum adoption, and CMMI evolution. He has authored over 100 technical papers and books, including The Capability Maturity Model: Guidelines for Improving the Software Process.
