Mark Borsuk is the James L. and Elizabeth M. Vincent Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University's Pratt School of Engineering. He directs the RESILE Center and co-directs the Center on Risk in the Duke Initiative for Science & Society.
His research develops mathematical models integrating natural, technical, and social systems, with applications in environmental decision-making, climate change assessment, and risk analysis. His work combines Bayesian networks, game theory, and agent-based modeling to address complex environmental challenges.
Education includes a B.S.E. from Princeton University (1995) and M.S./Ph.D. from Duke University (2001). His research has been funded by NSF, EPA, NIH, and USFS, resulting in over 75 peer-reviewed publications.
