Mark Bernhofen

Mark Bernhofen is a Researcher at the University of Oxford's Environmental Change Institute and leads Risk Analytics for Adaptation Finance in the Resilient Planet Finance Lab. He holds a PhD in global flood risk modelling from the University of Leeds (2022) and previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment.

His research focuses on climate risk analytics to support adaptation finance in Emerging and Developing Economies, particularly through the Oxford Martin Systemic Resilience Initiative. He investigates sovereign climate financial risk and the integration of climate change considerations into sovereign credit ratings.
