Mark Bartel

Mark Bartel is Associate Professor and Chair of Ambrose Arts at Ambrose University, specializing in choral conducting and music education. With over twenty years of experience, he directs university choirs and teaches applied voice and conducting.

Professional Work: As Chorus Director for the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, Bartel prepares ensembles for major performances. His research includes commissioning and premiering new choral works and exploring the role of choirs in peacebuilding initiatives.

Educational Leadership: Previously led choirs on international tours as President of the Kansas Choral Directors Association and developed curriculum integrating performance practice with music education pedagogy.
