Mark A. Ocegueda is currently an Andrew W. Mellon Gateway Fellow at Brown University and will transition to Assistant Professor of History in 2022. His research focuses on Latinx and Mexican American communities, labor, race, and urban development. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor of Mexican American History at California State University, Sacramento (2017-2019) and as the César Chávez Postdoctoral Fellow at Dartmouth College (2019-2020).

Research Interests: Ocegueda’s work explores the historical development of Mexican American communities in Southern California’s Inland Empire, particularly San Bernardino, analyzing civil rights, urban renewal, and labor dynamics.
