Marjorie Elizabeth Plummer is Susan C. Karant-Nunn Professor of Reformation and Early Modern European History at the University of Arizona. Her work examines religious reform impacts on social structures in German-speaking Europe.
Research focuses on:
- Reformation effects on gender roles and family structures
- Legal evolution of religious identity and social norms
- Tolerance/intolerance dynamics in Holy Roman Empire
- Experiences of nuns during religious reforms
Awarded 2013 Gerald Strauss Book Prize for From Priest's Whore to Pastor's Wife. Teaches Renaissance/Reformation history and specialized seminars on women's history and monasticism.
