Marjolein van Offenbeek

Dr. Marjolein van Offenbeek is an Associate Professor at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Economics and Business, specifically within the Innovation Management & Strategy department. Her research focuses on healthcare innovation implementation, digital healthcare technologies, and interprofessional collaboration. She has held roles including board member of her department (2015–2019), and previously contributed to establishing the International Business & Management program. She obtained her PhD in Work & Organizational Psychology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 1993, later applying this expertise to healthcare management studies.

Her research explores how innovations fit within healthcare contexts, emphasizing dynamic interactions between technology, professional roles, and organizational structures. Notable contributions include studies on electronic health records (EHR), telemedicine adoption, and generative AI in qualitative analysis. She co-founded the healthcare management research center with Prof. J. Wijngaard, aligning with the university's 'Healthy Society' strategic theme.

Teaching responsibilities include designing and coordinating programs like the MSc BA Health (launched 2018–19) and post-executive courses.
