Marjolein Lanzing

Marjolein Lanzing is an Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam, affiliated with the Department of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies. Her work centers on ethical concerns arising from new technologies, particularly regarding privacy, autonomy, vulnerability, and commodification, and how these affect self-perception and social relationships.

She completed her PhD research on 'The Transparent Self' at the 4TU Centre for Ethics and Technology, Eindhoven University of Technology (2019). Her postdoctoral work was part of the ERC-funded 'Digital Good' project under Tamar Sharon, conducted within the interdisciplinary Hub for Security, Privacy and Data Governance (iHub).
