Dr. Mariëlle Osinga is a Research Fellow in Pedagogy at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences. Her work focuses on individual differences in parenting, particularly exploring the role of social networks and the consequences of growing up without a biological father. She completed her PhD in 2024 and currently leads the 'Social Networks and Parenthood' research project.
Recent research includes a preprint examining intergenerational parenting in non-residential fatherhood contexts and presentations at the European Society on Family Relations Conference (ESFR2025). Her projects often involve collaborations with clinical partners, such as midwifery practices, to gather data on parenting experiences.
Osinga actively seeks participants for her studies, offering remuneration for involvement in surveys. Her work bridges family sociology, developmental psychology, and behavioral research, emphasizing methodological innovation in survey design and participant recruitment.
