Mariusz Mak is a Researcher at the Department of Economic and Social Development within the Faculty of Economics and Finance at the University of Białystok. His work focuses on taxation principles, fiscal policy, classical liberal economic thought, and sustainable development. He holds a doctoral degree (dr) and is affiliated with the Division of Sustainable Development. His research frequently engages with institutional economics, fiscal governance, and the theoretical underpinnings of economic systems.
Key research interests include the rationality of tax systems, the role of values in economic theory, and the analysis of fiscal crises through new institutional economics. He has published extensively on topics such as global governance during the pandemic, EU tax policies, and the economic liberalism of thinkers like Carl Menger and F.A. Hayek.
Publications from 2016 to 2023 reflect a consistent engagement with tax competitiveness, classical liberalism, and methodological critiques of modern economic sciences. His work often bridges historical economic thought with contemporary policy challenges, particularly in Poland and the EU context.
