Marius Aasan is a Machine Learning Researcher and PhD Candidate at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo. He is affiliated with the Digital Signal Processing and Image Analysis (DSB) group and the Visual Intelligence (VI) research center.
- BSc in Mathematics and Informatics (MAMI) from University of Oslo
- MSc in Data Science from University of Oslo
His research spans probabilistic machine learning, generative models, and invertible neural networks (INNs), with applications to imaging and inverse problems. He explores attention mechanisms in vision transformers and representation learning, integrating contextual priors into deep learning. Mathematically, he focuses on representation theory, manifolds, and generalized Fourier analysis.
His recent work includes advancements in vision transformers for image tokenization, graph neural networks for visual question answering, and methods bridging densely connected networks with INN/Normalizing Flow architectures.
He is part of the DSB research group and contributes to the Visual Intelligence (VI) center, focusing on research-based innovation in informatics.
