Marios Psychalis

Marios Psychalis is a Lecturer in Public Economics at Neapolis University Paphos since 2021, concurrently serving as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of the Peloponnese (UoP), Department of Management Science and Technology. His doctoral research focused on Eurozone economic governance reforms during the economic crisis, supervised by Prof. P. Liargovas. He holds a PhD in Economics from UoP and has conducted extensive research on EU fiscal policies, crisis management, and sustainable development. His work has been published in journals like European Review, European Politics and Society, and International Review of Economics & Finance.

Dr. Psychalis specializes in EU economic governance, fiscal reforms, crisis policy responses, and sustainable development. His work intersects macroeconomic policy analysis, institutional reforms, and their socio-economic impacts, with a focus on Greece and Southern European economies.

He serves on an inter-ministerial committee overseeing fiscal reforms in Cyprus’s central government and collaborates with organizations like the Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE) and the Monetary Research Center (University of National and World Economy, Sofia). He also acts as a reviewer for academic journals.
