Marion Jane Sheffield is a Senior Lecturer and Foundation Year Course Leader at the University of Wolverhampton within the School of Society and Community (Faculty of Education, Health & Wellbeing). She holds a PGCE (M) in Post Compulsory Education and is pursuing a PhD in Education focusing on working-class, mature female students' university experiences. Her professional history spans over a decade in social care, including roles managing mental health rehabilitation services, supported living programs, and outreach initiatives for vulnerable populations.

Research Interests: Prioritizes widening participation in higher education, inclusive teaching practices, and the experiences of mature, working-class female students. Her work addresses systemic barriers faced by underrepresented groups in Post-92 universities through alternative admissions policies and pedagogical innovation.

Grants & Advising: Serves as attainment champion for the Institute of Community and Society. Her industry experience includes project management roles with national agencies and contributions to CQC-regulated services. She has trained staff across health/social care sectors and led multidisciplinary teams in mental health and disability services.
Labs/Teams: Engaged with the University’s Graduate Teaching Assistant Management Group and contributes to teacher education initiatives through PGCE programs and postgraduate researcher workshops.
