Professor Marion Henderson holds the Chair in Child and Youth Wellbeing at the University of Strathclyde's Social Policy department. Her research focuses on health outcomes and interventions for vulnerable children.
Research examines health inequalities among care-experienced children, adolescent health behaviors, and evaluation of parenting interventions. Current projects include population-wide cohort studies tracking health outcomes of children in care and clinical trials testing infant mental health services.
Publications demonstrate expertise in longitudinal administrative data analysis, with recent work examining social media's impact on adolescent health behaviors and chronic condition management among care-experienced youth. Earlier research established methods for evaluating early childhood interventions.
She leads multiple NIHR-funded projects including the BeST? trial evaluating interventions for maltreated children in foster care. International collaborations focus on adolescent health and global health research partnerships.
