Dr. Marion Borderon is a Senior Scientist at the University of Vienna's Department of Geography and Regional Research, within the Faculty of Earth Sciences, Geography and Astronomy. She specializes in public health, population studies, and development, with a focus on spatial assessment of vulnerability and risk in environmental contexts. Her work spans Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, and South Asia, emphasizing climate change adaptation and migration dynamics.
Education: PhD in Geography from Aix-Marseille University (France), focusing on malaria in Dakar, Senegal. MSc in Geography. Previous roles include Researcher and Project Leader at the University of Salzburg, Austria.
Research Interests: Risk and vulnerability assessment, spatial data analysis (ESDA), migration-environment nexus, and health-disease dynamics. Current projects include AGRUMIG (migration governance in rural areas) and HABITABLE (climate change and social tipping points).
