Mario Romão

Mario Romão is an Assistant Professor and active researcher at ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management, University of Lisbon. His academic career spans teaching and supervision in project management, information systems, and business analytics. He is deeply engaged in research on project success, benefits management, Balanced Scorecard, and digital transformation across sectors including healthcare, public administration, and defense.

His work emphasizes strategic alignment, knowledge sharing, and sustainability in temporary organizations such as construction and defense projects.

His recent publications (2023–2024) show a strong trend toward integrating models for project success, digital transformation challenges, and green building certification. He frequently contributes to literature on e-government, healthcare IS/IT, and military project prioritization, often using case studies and maturity models to assess performance.

Mario Romão has supervised over 40 Master’s students whose theses cover CRM implementation, Agile methodologies, blockchain in supply chains, and digital transformation in public services. He has also contributed to professional practice through roles at INA, LOGICA CMG, and CASE S.A., bringing industry experience into his academic work.

He has been involved in teaching courses such as Information Technology, Project Management in Information Systems, and Enterprise Analytics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at ISEG. His teaching emphasizes practical application and strategic alignment in technology projects.
