Mario Nervi is an Associate Professor at the University of Genoa in the Department of Naval, Electrical, Electronic, and Telecommunications Engineering (DITEN). He teaches core electrical engineering courses including Electric and Magnetic Fields, Circuit Complements, Basic Numerical Methods and Optimization Techniques for Electromagnetic Systems, and Circuit Theory and Electrical Laboratory across bachelor's and master's degree programs.
His research focuses on:
- HVDC transmission systems and sea/ground electrodes
- Electromagnetic interference mitigation in power infrastructure
- Computational methods for electromagnetic field analysis
- Optimization techniques for power systems
- Marine energy transmission challenges
- Electrode material selection and corrosion management
