Mario Lamontagne is a Full Professor in Biomechanics at the School of Human Kinetics, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ottawa. He holds cross-appointments in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Biomedical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering. His research focuses on musculoskeletal modeling, biomechanics, aging, and rehabilitation, with a specialization in hip and knee joint mechanics.
- Education: PhD in Biomedical Engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal (1986).
His work includes developing numerical and musculoskeletal models for hip joints in patients with femoroacetabular impingement and studying neuromuscular adaptation post-total hip/knee replacement. Funded by NSERC and CIHR, he has published over 250 peer-reviewed articles and supervised numerous graduate students.
