Mario Farina is an Assistant Professor of Aesthetics at the IUAV University of Venice. His research focuses on classical German philosophy, aesthetics, critical theory (particularly Theodor Adorno), and the philosophy of literature. He has held visiting positions at the Universität Frankfurt (2016) and University of Dublin (2019), and was a Visiting Scholar at Boston University's Philosophy Department from April to June 2022.

Farina's work explores Hegel's and Kant's aesthetic theories, Adorno's literary theory of art, and the intersections between critical theory and modernist aesthetics. His monograph on Kant and Hegel’s aesthetic theories is currently in progress.
He has authored four influential books, including Adorno’s Aesthetics as a Literary Theory of Art (2020) and La dissoluzione dell’estetico (2018). His scholarship bridges historical philosophy with contemporary critical discourse, emphasizing the dissolution of traditional aesthetic categories in modern art.
