Dr. Mario Cappadocia is a Full Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Université de Montréal's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on intra- and interspecific reproductive barriers in angiosperms, particularly genetic and molecular aspects of gametophytic self-incompatibility in Solanum chacoense.
Research examines pollen tube development, S-RNase mechanisms, and plant biotechnology applications. Expertise includes in vitro culture techniques and genetic transformation methods for plant improvement.
Education: PhD in Genetics from Université de Louvain-le-Neuve (1979).
