Mario Bottinelli Montandon

Mario Bottinelli Montandon is a Lecturer in Visual Education at the Department of Education and Learning, Higher School of Pedagogy, University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). He graduated in Painting from Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA) in Milan in 1989 and earned a Master of Arts degree in middle school teaching (Visual Education/Education in the Plastic Arts) from SUPSI-DFA in 2015.

His professional experience spans contemporary art research since 1990, with solo and group exhibitions across Europe. He has contributed to cultural initiatives, particularly focusing on Joseph Beuys’ work and thought. From 2003 to 2011, he worked in advertising as a creative director and producer in the instore design sector. Since 2013, he has been a lecturer in the Arts department (EV-EAP) within the Ticino school system.

His skills include contemporary artistic research, history of art, visual perception, and drawing theory and techniques. His publications, such as the Museum Experience series, explore pedagogical approaches to integrating art and education through museum experiences. He teaches courses like Visual Education, Artistic and Expressive Languages II, and disciplinary seminars in Visual Arts.
