Marina Douglas is an Associate Lecturer in Equine Science at Charles Sturt University (CSU), based in the School of Agricultural, Environmental and Veterinary Sciences. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees: a BEquineSc (2020) and BSc(Hons) (2021), both from CSU. Her academic career began in 2022, focusing on teaching equine locomotion and related subjects.

Her research interests center on horse-saddle-rider biomechanical interactions, equine welfare in saddle fitting, and environmental adaptations like shade/shelter use in paddock-kept horses. Key themes include optimizing rider-equipment-horse interfaces and improving equine welfare through evidence-based practices.
Her recent publications (2021–2025) explore topics like equine movement reliability scoring, shade/shelter behavior in Australian horses, and saddle position assessment. She collaborates with institutions on interdisciplinary projects combining veterinary science, biomechanics, and environmental science.
Marina maintains active equestrian involvement as a Dressage Coach (Equestrian Australia certified) and competitor.
