Prof. Marijn van Dijk is a Full Professor at the University of Groningen, affiliated with the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Medical Sciences. His research focuses on child development, teacher-student interactions, language acquisition, and complex dynamic systems. He holds the chair of Inclusive and Special Needs Education (Orthopedagogiek) and leads projects like 'Ieder Kind is Anders' studying child well-being and learning. He collaborates with institutions such as the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali (Colombia) on dynamic systems applications to cognitive development.
Educational background: Studied Child & Youth Psychology at Tilburg University, earned a PhD in 2004 from Groningen, and held roles at the Open University and Groningen before his current position. His expertise includes early childhood development, learning in diverse classrooms, and creativity development.
