Marie Tallarek

Marie Tallarek is a doctoral candidate and academic staff member at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, Department of Health Sciences, since 2018. Her research focuses on the professionalization of health and social professions in post-socialist transformation processes, with emphasis on migration, transcultural competence, and inclusionary public health practices during the pandemic. She has contributed to the Handbook of Migration and Health and conducted studies on refugee populations, healthcare disparities, and diversity-sensitive education frameworks.

• Research Interests: Migration and health, transcultural nursing, transformation societies, pandemic equity, professional development in health professions.
• Key Projects: Examined exclusionary practices in German refugee reception centers, developed diversity-sensitive public health models, and analyzed health determinants for migrants.
• Publications: Explored pandemic management in refugee accommodations (2020), co-authored chapters on transcultural training (2021), and contributed to systematic reviews on migrant health (2021).
